as i have mentioned previously, i am now primarily a portraits photographer… but sometimes i make an exception. my friend Paula at Second Nature Photography has recently moved to Invercargill; and a good friend of hers was in urgent need of a wedding photographer at short notice due to her fiance’s terminally ill father. such a happy-sad occasion… but how could I refuse, knowing that these photographs were going to be so important.

here are my favourites from their day… sneak peek first. i absolutely love the colours mary chose for their wedding… her dress is beautiful and suited her perfectly

tragically, mark’s father lost his fight with cancer during the week following the wedding. i am humbled that i was trusted to record this event for their family.

so tonight is this years supermoon… i couldn’t see the cape though, must have been behind the clouds!

kids-only is a great way for mum and dad to have some beautiful memories of their children without the self-consciousness of having to be included in the photos when perhaps they might not be feeling at their best! but of course, if mum and dad change their minds while watching the session they are always welcome to jump in

when i was growing up, we lived in a caravan on the beach for a few years. because i was a child, i thought it was awesome. but as an adult i would find THESE portable pod homes awesome! imagine having a beach bach that looks like this inside…

and here’s what it looks like from outside – hard to believe so much space fits into such a compact design!
