shooting with others is always more fun than shooting alone, and also a good opportunity to talk shop! the following photos were taken at a group practice photo session today. the idea for the group came about from the reality that often as professional photographers we are required to shoot in quite ordinary surroundings – and make them look extraordinary! so a few of us decided it would be educational & fun to meet up and shoot together, sharing ideas & experience, for the benefit of all.

we are looking forward to seeing our group grow, & getting to know more local mums who work as professional photographers

ok so i’ve been holding onto these photos for weeks and now that the bride & groom and their families have had time to see them all, i just have to share some more from heather & hiram’s gorgeous wedding!

here are my preparation morning favourites from the bride’s grandparents’ house…

WOW – what a gorgeous day! i knew heather when she was just 8 years old, and now she and her sisters & brother are “all growed up” as they say. what a beautiful bride she made too – and here’s the proof!

after the portraits we all headed over to the reception venue, the waterfront Browns Bay Marine Centre. The room was gorgeous, the food was so tasty, the people were great fun and the night was one to remember! and here’s the proof…

the rain had been coming down off and on all day – but magically, when the ceremony finished, the skies cleared for just enough time for us to grab these portraits! the beautiful venue gardens were all dripping and cold but you’d never know it to see the warm smiles on these two lovebirds…

and the rain started again as we headed for the cars. one more post to come: the family reception dinner

as the young pastor who performed the celebrant duties said, “how does one begin to lead a ceremony which celebrates a marriage that has been in place longer than one has even been alive?”

well, pastor hugh’s age notwithstanding; the ceremony was elegant and beautiful, and a fitting tribute to the love shared for so long between two such gentle and well-loved people. but, enough talk – more photos!
